World Metrology Day (WMD) is an annual celebration of the signature of the Metre Convention on 20 May 1875. This year in conjunction with WMD 2024, A*STAR’s National Metrology Institute (NMC), the national measurement institute of Singapore, along with the Health Sciences Authority (HSA), the designated institute for chemical metrology in Singapore, are organising a conference on 14 May 2024.
The theme for World Metrology Day 2024 is “Sustainability” as announced jointly by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) and the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML).
This event serves as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of accurate measurements in addressing environmental challenges and fostering sustainable practices. Joining the celebration provides an opportunity for individuals, scientists, industry professionals and policymakers to engage in discussions and activities that highlight the crucial link between metrology and sustainable development.
You can anticipate an invigorating schedule featuring talks, exhibitions and networking opportunities with industry partners and metrology experts at the event.
